Oceanvida supports and congratulates Rimas Kinka on his latest challenge to break a Guinness world record and his campaign for cleaner oceans.

Within the next few days (or weeks, depending on the weather) Rimas will attempt something no one else has done before.  He will kitesurf from Jacksonville, Florida to Key West nonstop—430 miles of treacherous and unpredictable ocean.  If he succeeds, he will be breaking the Guinness world record of the longest nonstop kite-surfing distance.  He is no stranger to long-distance challenges; during the last few years he has been in the forefront of long-distance kitesurfing.  In 2012 he broke the world record by kiting 401.2 miles off the coast of Florida in 24 hours.  This time, he also wants to convey an important message: our ocean is chocking with plastics and we all need to do our part to clean it.
