Guardianes de la Naturaleza is an education / ocean conservation program we originally implemented in the Caribbean coast of Colombia in 2007. The mission of the program was to teach young people to become conservation leaders. 

Our mission was (and still is) to educate, inspire, organize and help young people so they can protect their own environment and improve their quality of life.  

This is exactly what Dorcas Bautista is doing in Playa del Viento, Colombia, with her newly created foundation, Fundación Sinumar.  Dorcas was one of our original Guardianes and she is now a recognized leader in her region and founder of Sinumar.  Her integrative approach is particularly commendable.  Her foundation offers programs to local children and adults that include environmental protection, surfing, arts, music, local culture and even love and respect for animals.    

We would like to congratulate Dorcas--one of the original Guardianes--for her contribution to her region.
